SES Mock Emergency Night

Kawana Scout group were fortunate recently to work with the Kawana SES creating a mock emergency scenario where the SES had to rescue our scout group after there had been a “gas explosion”.  This is the first of a few mock emergency nights planned for this year and a great example of Scouts working with other community groups and learning skills.

$1,000 SCRC grant for camping equipment

Kawana Scouts has recently received from SCRC a grant of $1000 to be put towards the purchase of camping equipment. We were able to purchase 3 new Dune 9 canvas 6-8 person tents, a new 4 burner gas bbq and a 9kg gas bottle. This equipment will be able to be used by all sections and we are very grateful to Council for their assistance. We have now completed our project to update the camping equipment with the purchase of these final few items.
