Parent Committee Meeting, this Thursday night 6.30pm at the Den. All Welcome
This Thursday night 15th November our group parent committee are meeting at 6.30pm at the Den. We would like to invite all interested parents to attend. We will be discussing the end of year group break-up and activities scheduled for first term 2013.
The parent committee is very small (currently about 5 committed parents, Dingo and myself) who perform a vital role in the running of our group. The committee manages the finances of the group, pays the bills, supports and funds the leaders in training, identifies and manages purchase of equipment items,scout den maintenance, and management of our website www.kawanascouts.net.au. Grants are applied for and money from your fees and fundraising is put towards these initiatives.
Our current parent committee has been in place for the past 3 years and next year at our AGM some will be resigning their positions. It is not an onerous task attending the meetings and shows support for the group and a desire to make scouting a great experience for all.
The Kawana Group is only as successful as its parent involvement allows, our current committee have done a fantastic job of this, and we are very grateful.
Please come along, get involved and help us to continue to be a successful group.
