Good morning everyone!
I would like to remind you that our Annual General Meeting will be held on next Monday night, 29th April 6.45pm at the Den.
Scouts is a voluntary organisation, and it is at this time of the year it is appropriate to get together to recognise and show our support for the many volunteers who give of their time and efforts each week so that your children (and mine) can enjoy their scouting experience. It is expected that a representative from each family will attend.
We need to appoint a new group committee and each section prepares a report of highlights and progress over the past twelve months. This year we have already ‘filled’ the core positions of Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer – the executive of the committee. Vacancies still exist for fundraising co-ordinator, hall manager and public relations and it would be ideal to fill these positions and have an extra few parents willing to come along to our monthly meetings and assist with the management of the group, many hands make light work! Please consider being a part of this vital part of our group. The parent committee manages the finances, pays the bills, supports and funds the leaders in training, identifies and manages purchase of equipment items,scout den maintenance, and management of our website www.kawanascouts.net.au. Grants are applied for and money from your fees and fundraising is put towards these initiatives.
The Kawana Group is only as successful as its parent involvement allows, our current committee have done a fantastic job of this, and we are very grateful for their support over the past 4 years.

Congratulations! Kawana Scouts are great shoppers! We managed to get into the TOP 10 for the Kawana Shoppingworld Community Give Away competition! Thank you to those who helped us by placing your shopping dockets into our box! We will receive $500 in vouchers to spend on our group. WELL DONE ALL!
A Great Big THANK YOU to everyone who participated in the Tin Rattle at Kawana Shopping World, on Saturday 9th March.
The Tin Rattles are a very successful fundraiser for our group and it is fabulous to see so many families helping us to raise funds, ensuring the financial viability of our group. The promotional table was very colourful with our section flags the centrepiece of the display. We hope everyone remembered to put their receipts into the Kawana Scouts Community Cash Giveaway Box while there! Well done all!
